Important Information (Please Read Carefully)
At Unicorn Motor Developments Ltd, your satisfaction and vehicle reliability are extremely important to us. As passionate petrol heads ourselves, we genuinely want nothing more than for your car to perform at its absolute best. However, due to the complex nature of ECU tuning, some vehicles may experience minor issues after tuning.
Please carefully consider this before deciding to have your car tuned. We tune hundreds of cars each year and have been doing so for over 15 years. While the vast majority of vehicles experience no issues, just like in top-level motorsport, occasionally some vehicles encounter problems.
Understanding Post-Tuning Issues:
Tuning your vehicle relies heavily on all components functioning perfectly, often within very fine tolerances. Even minor imperfections or wear in hardware can become noticeable once performance is enhanced. This is a common aspect of vehicle tuning, as every component works closely together.
Once your vehicle leaves our facility, we have no control over what may or may not happen. However, we remain committed to providing ongoing support and assistance.
Our Commitment to Support:
- Should you experience any concerns or issues after tuning, please contact us promptly.
- Checking and then sending us any fault codes will greatly help the process.
- We request that all issues be communicated in written format, such as email, to ensure we maintain accurate records of your concerns.
- In most cases, we’ll request that you bring your vehicle back to our facility for inspection and diagnosis.
- We will not give your car the “all clear” unless we have strong evidence from the data logs we collect and from the vehicle’s performance both on and off the dyno.
- If further software adjustments are necessary, we will ask you to return to our facility. No compensation will be provided for this additional visit, as it is a natural part of the tuning process.
- Our aim is always to identify and resolve issues swiftly, getting you back on the road as soon as possible.
Chargeable Diagnosis and Repairs:
- If, upon inspection, the issue is found to be related to hardware faults or wear rather than our tuning software, diagnosis and repair time may be chargeable.
- We’ll clearly explain any findings and discuss potential costs with you before undertaking any chargeable work.
Your Cooperation:
- We ask that you promptly report any post-tuning issues or unusual behaviors to enable swift diagnosis and resolution.
- Regularly maintaining your vehicle to a high standard will help minimise potential post-tuning issues.
